What a strange day, the wind was howling so strongly I couldn’t get my car door closed.  And it was hot, jersey on-and-off and on-and-off kind of weather and now this …

That’s a large area to be covered by a few volunteers in 4×4’s.  There are no houses up there, but the indigenous flora (fynbos) is very sensitive to fire.  Not to mention the wildlife, the birds and frogs, the lizards and rabbits.

Time for our local version of a rain-dance … washing the car.
