Spring is busting out all over the Western Cape and it’s a glorious sight to behold.  Each day brings a new eruption of gorgeousness.

Best surprise of all was my fig tree.  Last summer our town endured a wrenching die-off of the fig trees due to some fungus.  But look at this …

My other fig tree still looks a little ill, but it’s alive.  A cutting I took has sprouted so it’s all looking good for figs this year.

And now for a completely gratuitous cute kitten picture.  I learned an interesting thing about blue-eyes cats, in artificial light they glimmer red.  Yes they do.  Grab one and see for yourself.
