Tiny bags and the South African keyring

Image

I’m making handbags this week, handbags for the chronically indecisive.  The idea is that you turn them inside out for a completely different color, in case you change your mind en route to wherever you’re going.

This bag is obviously not for South Africans.  Why?  Duh, far too small.  Once your keys are in there, there’s no space for anything else.  In South Africa, we don’t just have keys, we have KEYS.  Here’s what my own keyring contains :

Front door security gate

Front door key

Back door security gate

Back door key

Garden gate key

Garden gate bicycle lock key

Remote control for complex gate

Car key

Car blocker key

Pedestrian gate key

Postbox key (because you can’t have your post delivered to the postbox outside your complex, the estate agents will toss your post on the floor to stuff your mailbox with their fliers)

Tiny torch for when the Eskom turns the lights out for no apparent reason

OK, so I’m going out and I’ve got my tiny bag and I’ve stuffed it all in :  keys check, money check, change for carguard check, cigarettes check and now the problem is …

where am I going to put the pepper spray?
