Only in Africa – the Juju pamphlet

With unemployment at about 25-40% it’s no wonder that people in South Africa do a lot of innovative things to scratch a living.  If you need a pair of emergency sunglasses or coat hangers, you only have to buy one from the hordes of sellers that descend on you at a red traffic light.  Need a beanie with earflaps, umbrella in the shape of a cat or cellphone charger, no problem, you can take your pick.

A recent development is the juju pamphlet-shover, there’s one on every street corner and they are invariably so friendly and charming, you find the pamphlet in your hand before you can shut your window.

Now if I can just find that black spot on my hand or a particular person lurking around a particular Zenex Garage in Randburg.
